Today Moviment Graffitti along with several other local NGOs such as Azzjoni Pozittiva and Third World Group organized an activity to condemn the presence of warships in Malta. This activity was organized on the day of the parliament opening celebrations to put pressure on the members of parliament to take a concrete action in favour of peace and against war so that Malta would not remain a direct accomplice in the killings of innocent people by allowing warships in our ports.
However due to aggressive behaviour from the part of a small number of persons who where present for this ceremony, this symbolic and peaceful activity was brought to an end. Moviment Graffitti along with other organizations harshly condemns this aggressive behaviour and is highly concerned about the liberty of freedom of expression in Malta. In fact, this incident brings into question the democratic principles Malta supposedly holds. Moviment Graffitti would like to thank the police forces for taking immediate and appropriate action against this abusive behaviour.

Nhar is-Sibt 24 ta' Mejju, hija l-ġurnata fejn il-parlament il-ġdid ser jiltaqa' għall-ewwel darba. Sadanittant, mill-elezzjoni 'l-hawn, mhux anqas minn 24 vapur militari daħlu fil-portijiet Maltin. B'riżultat ta' dan, Malta qiegħda tkun kompliċi fil-gwerra, u fil-qtil ta' mijiet ta' nies innoċenti. Din il-kompliċità ġiet konfermata bl-ittra li George W. Bush bgħat lill-Prim Ministru Malti, jirringrazzjah tal-għajnuna li tat Malta lill-flotta Amerikana.
Il-Moviment Graffitti, bħala għaqda li dejjem ħadmet għall-paċi, għal darba oħra se turi l-oppożizzjoni tagħha għal dan. Għalhekk, nistiednu lil kull min hu favur il-paċi, u favur li Malta żżomm in-newtralità tagħha, biex nhar is-Sibt, 24 ta' Mejju, jiġi jiltaqa' magħna fl-10:15am quddiem il-parlament, fejn ser issir protesta paċifika kontra l-preżenza tal-vapuri militari fil-port.

I'm writing this mostly for the people who visit here often and check for updates, and for those who have visited here more than once, but only saw part of our site.
First of all, I would like to say something about our Shopping Cart (merchandise section). Today, I have fixed some technical problems which were holding me from setting the prices the way we need. Now that everything's in order, the prices have been made lower and fairer. I would also like to remind you that every item's price, includes a small donation to Moviment Graffitti. All "profits" from the sales will go to Moviment Graffitti, and will be used to fund our activities. No personal profits, ever!
The second (and last) thing that I would like to mention is the Discussion Forum. It seems that most people who come here, don't even dare say a word on the forum. I would like to encourage everyone to use the forum, and by the word USE, I mean discuss, show your opinion, even if you don't agree with our beliefs. That's why we're providing a forum, for you to come and discuss.

L-aqwa li nafu li l-ghadu taghna huwa 't-terrorizmu' u rridu noqtluh akkost ta kollox! (min huwa dan "it-terrorizmu"? Dan xi bniedem jew? kif ha nnehhu dan "it-terrorizmu" b'tank tal-gwerra?) Viva l-flus u l-poter! Viva l-globalizzazjoni!

”I stand for peace and justice. I stand for democracy and autonomy. I don't think the U.S. or any other country should ignore the popular will and violate and weaken international law, seeking to bully and bribe votes in the Security Council.

15th of February 2003 will be a landmark in the history of the anti-war movement around the world. The cold temperatures and rainy day didnt' stop hundreds of Maltese people to join millions of people from around the world to protest against the possible war on Iraq led by the George W. Bush and Tony Blair. Maltese people has shown on this day, that they too are preoccupied with this possible war which will bring untold suffering to millions of innocent men, women and children. We were about 800.

29th April 2003
The general election and the referendum have both passed. Now all the political parties have stopped being morally good. This can be seen by the permission for 10 military ships from around the world to stay in our ports for the so called courtesy visit. No political party have condemned these visits from these ships. Just a few days ago, before the election, all of them said they are in favour of peace, but still they see nothing wrong with these warships.
